Candidate Statement: Richard Ma.
A civil rights attorney for 25 years, I’ve fought housing, climate and transportation campaigns with low-income community groups. I served on EBDSA’s Coordinating Committee for our Jovanka and Prop. 10 campaigns, and am a member of our Racial Solidarity and Social Housing committees. I’ve trained canvass captains, facilitated Night School discussions, and helped lead our OEA strike support. I’ll bring EBDSA’s class-struggle 2020, rank-and-file labor, and racial solidarity priorities to Atlanta, continuing to build DSA across tendencies, as I did most recently co-drafting a resolution with a multi-tendency group based on the Social Housing statement I led for our chapter.
