DSA is at a crucial juncture. The choices we make at the 2019 convention will determine whether we rise to the challenge of building an independent, powerful, and democratic voice for socialism in the U.S. — or we allow our organization to become co-opted by larger, moderate forces. DSA also faces the organizational challenges of a large, big-tent organization. As a union organizer for 10 years and former EBDSA co-chair, I will bring to the convention a solid commitment to the power of the working class, as well as an understanding of the dynamics that foster democratic and effective organizations.
