Candidate Statement: Emma G.
Although fairly new to DSA, I’m lucky to have had the chance to work with many of you during the Oakland teachers strike; first organizing house parties, and then as part of the core group on the Bread for Ed project. I’ve since helped create and co-chair the Public Education Committee. Through this experience, I learned how a mass action could transform the working class as it realized its power to wage a real fight against capitalism. In Atlanta, I would advocate for campaigns that continue building working class power and consciousness through strong labor movements and class-struggle electoral work.
