Candidate Statement: Charlie H.

I joined East Bay DSA because Donald Trump’s election convinced me that politics as usual is simply insufficient; that a fundamental change must be made to avert climate catastrophe, stop endless wars, and put an end to grinding oppressions of capitalism, to the gnawing economic fears that so many of experience every day.

Since joining, I have coordinated phonebanks to elect Jovanka Beckles, mobilized DSA members to support Oakland teachers, and served as co-chair of the Public Education committee. In Atlanta I will advocate for a DSA focused on outward-facing campaigns that build our movement and give us hope.
