Candidate Statement: Ari M.

I have been a member of East Bay DSA for three years, during which time I have served two terms on the Steering Committee, helped launch our Medicare for All campaign, and served as co-chair of the OEA Solidarity Committee, which supported Oakland teachers when they went on strike. DSA, the teacher strike wave, and Bernie Sanders have inspired a new optimism in me. I believe we can grow into a mass organization, rooted in the diverse working class, but only if we prioritize organic working class struggles that aim our fire directly at the capitalist class.
