Organize Your Workplace

The East Bay Workplace Organizing Committee (EBWOC) supports non-union workers in any industry to organize with their coworkers and win lasting change on the job. 

EBWOC is affiliated with the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC), which was founded by national DSA and the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE). So far, our local EBWOC has helped a dozen workplaces, representing more than 1,300 workers, go public with union drives and win a union.

Workers who request support are connected with experienced volunteer organizers who provide one-on-one guidance through the organizing process. EWOC also offers online trainings, including the four-part Organizer Training Series, which covers how to analyze a workplace, bring coworkers together, formulate demands, identify targets, escalate, and defeat the boss’s anti-union campaign. Additionally, look out for local in-person trainings and events hosted by EBWOC and East Bay DSA.
