The California Democratic Primary will take place on March 3rd, 2020.
California voters can now register to vote or update their registration in person at the polls on Election Day or in person at their local election's office up until Election Day.
Only those registered as “Democrat” or “No Party Preference” will be able to vote for Bernie.

Vote Early:
Skip the line and make sure your vote is counted! Check your county elections office to find early polling locations.
Vote in Person on Election Day, Tuesday March 3rd 2020
Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm. You must be in line by 8pm in order to vote!
Vote by Mail Ballot:
You can drop your ballots off at a drop-off sites or at a polling place on March 3rd. Find your Polling Place

We strongly recommend dropping off your ballot instead of mailing your ballot after February 15th to make sure it gets counted! If that's not possible make sure to Send your ballot by mail before March 3rd, no stamp is required.

Voting for Bernie as "No Party Preference"
"No Party Preference " voters in California are allowed to participate in the Democratic Party Primary. However, unless you request a “Democratic Crossover Ballot”, you will receive a ballot with no option to vote for Bernie!
NPP Voters can:
Vote by Mail:
- You must request a “Democratic Crossover Ballot” by February 25th!
- Submit online or mail your ballot request to your County Elections Office. Find your election's office
Vote Early:
- Skip the line and make sure your vote is counted, ask for a "Democratic Crossover Ballot"
- Check your county elections office for early polling locations. Find early polling locations
Vote in person on Election Day:
- Got to your poll on March 3rd and request a “Democratic Crossover Ballot” in exchange for your NPP ballot.
- Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm. You must be in line by 8pm in order to vote!
ID is not required but bring one just in case!
Forgot to register or update your party affiliation in time? Go vote anyway!
If you didn’t register in time you can now register to vote in person at your County Elections Office or in person at the poll on Election Day.
If you are registering for the first time, you will vote conditionally.
