Steering Committee Statement on Member Conduct Issue

Dear Comrades,

On May 17, 2018 the East Bay DSA Steering Committee received an email alleging past incidents of sexual misconduct and evasion of accountability by a member of the chapter. (These incidents allegedly occurred outside of a DSA context.)

The Steering Committee met in closed session to discuss the allegations and the appropriate course of action that would ensure member safety and maintain our chapter's commitment to due process.

The Steering Committee voted to assign a grievance officer who will conduct an investigation and solicit the member's response to the allegations. Pending the outcome of that investigation, the member is not permitted to attend East Bay DSA events or meetings.
